I’m accustomed to getting press releases of all sorts for publication on my blogs, and I don’t often accept them, unless they are truly writing or book related, and then they usually go on Texas Straight-Talk Reviews blog instead. But this press release just tickeled me so much I had to share it. Maybe it’s because I’m a kid at heart, maybe it’s because I’ve never seen the Wienermobile in person (I lived in a small town, so as a kid, it wouldn’t have come to my area), or maybe because I have a friend who, when he was in college, drove the Wienermobile too. (Did you know spell check wants to turn Wienermobile into snowmobile? No, spell check, not the same thing).
Anyway, I’d love to see this ride in Houston this week, wouldn’t you?
How cool looking is that? I mean, seriously–that is one slick looking vehicle.
Not to mention all the sexual innuendo and jokes that could be made at the Wienermobiles expense now that I’m a grownup… well, now that I’m old enough to be considered a grownup anyway. I’ll refrain because of the kidlets who might find this site through searching. Still, that’s a slick looking ride, IMO. So we might actually be going to see the Wienermobile in person.
My inner child is going to love me for it. Heck, I might even eat a hot dog. With mustard and sweet pickle relish, please. Onions are good too. Yes, and chili sometimes with lots of melty cheese.

My partner Jess Grillin’ and I are two of twelve Hotdoggers currently traveling the hotdog highways of America spreading miles of smiles along the way. The 12 of us were selected from over 1,200 applicants for this great one-year opportunity with Oscar Mayer to drive the fleet of six Wienermobile vehicles! In fact, there are more people who have walked on the moon than have been Hotdoggers! Every year, Oscar Mayer recruits at campuses across the U.S. looking for soon-to-be college graduates who have a thirst for adventure and can truly cut the mustard. Each team of two is assigned one of the six regions to travel. After six months on the job, we all get a new partner in addition to a new region. It is truly a bunderful opportunity for recent college graduates!
